First, I would highly recommend reading THIS article about a long lost Egyptian port city named Thonis - Heracleion that was swallowed by the Mediterranean Sea and has remained underwater for approximately 1,200 years. They have found not only Egyptian artifacts, but Greek artifacts as well showing that this city was a very popular trade hub in ancient times. It's believed that Hercules actually gave the city it's name. I am so very excited about watching this documentary. :)
