& We Explore // VICTORY Sammiching

What to do on rainy afternoons....

I am lying on the couch reading yet another book about healthy living. It's raining outside and all of the fur balls in the house are napping. I slightly lower my book and take a peek at my husband who is sitting cross legged on our checkered coffee table intently playing his new video game. I decide that I really hate that damn Grand Theft Auto...a.k.a. my husband's mistress.

I ask him what he wants to do today and he replies 'this'. After some coaxing, I convince him to try a new restaurant for lunch. He gets up, does his thing to get ready for an outing and we set out to explore a little tiny piece of our city.

Let me introduce you to Victory Sandwich Bar in Decatur, GA.

It's unique and extremely delicious. My husband, Sam, describes it as a fancy Krystals (or White Castle).

I enjoy spending my rainy day sipping on a Jack and Coke slushie (that's right folks...it was amazing) and eating the Ayatollah of Rock-n-Rollah Sandwich (falafel, sriracha hummus, arugula, & tzatziki), while spending some good ol' quality time with Sam who sipped on a Paloma (grapefruit soda, taquila, & lime juice) and munched on the Mile High Club Sandwich (smoked turkey, bacon, ham, avocado, fontina, and dijon). Victory is now one of our new favorite places to dine at.

After grubbing out at lunch we decided to walk around and visit the cute shops in Decatur and check out some of the art work on the buildings around us. We ended up buying some local art from HomeGrown and grabbed coffee and raspberry bars from The Cafe at Cakes & Ale

My dear friends, it was a fantastic rainy day.

There is a yummy medley of tequila and lime juice in this grapefruit soda.
The most delicious drink! Jack & Coke Slushie
...a mocha, to finish off a fantastic day date.
