Whirlwind of Change // Texas Edition

Sam and I have officially been in Texas for 48 hours and hot damn - we have been balls-to-the-wall busy since our arrival.

Unpacking the truck, settling into our temporary home (guest house post to come later - once things are more organized), interviewing in Austin (3.75 hours South from where we are right now), interviewing in Euless (1.25 hours  Northeast from where we are right now), learning new road names, and having to acclimate the fur babies to their new home (more difficult than we originally thought for our youngest pup) has left us with very little time for the 1000 mile move to really sink in.

Regardless of all of these pretty significant and time consuming life happenings, we are really falling in love with Texas and are extremely excited about our future as Texans.

One of my favorite things in Texas so far has been the landscape and sky. I understand what people mean when they talk about the Texas sky being so big. It really is huge! The stars shine SO bright. The sunrises and sunsets are extraordinarily beautiful. The landscape is nothing that I thought it'd be. The fields and hillsides are covered in green grass, Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush Flowers (Castilleja), Cacti, and an abundance of luscious trees.

I cannot wait to explore our new state and to find a place to settle. :-)
